Deep Trouble brings two-day prairie rock party to St. Gregor this weekend

St. Gregor is about to get loud as Deep Trouble, one of B.C.’s self-described “best party bands,” rolls into town for a two-night concert this Friday and Saturday.
The four-piece rock group, Doug Deep (vocals, guitar), Cole Eriksson (guitar), Jack Blaue (bass), and Ryden Starkell (drums) formed just a year and a half ago in Sorrento, B.C., but they’ve already released four albums and more than a dozen music videos. Now, they’re heading to Saskatchewan to capture a live recording.
“We thought we’d come and visit and woodshed out and take the hall for a week, do our recordings and our prep, and then throw a couple live shows, capture the whole thing,” said frontman Doug Deep. “It’ll be our prairie excursion, soak up some influences.”
Friday’s show will be open to all ages, while Saturday night’s performance will be an adult-only harvest social — no alcohol served, but food and refreshments will be available. The band promises a high-energy set that blends classic rock, disco, and punk into what they call their own style of pisco.
“For the most part, it’s extremely up-tempo,” said Deep. “It’s a lot of groove with just attitude on top of it.”
Fans are encouraged to come ready to dance, dress up, and bring their energy. “Bring your fun, bring your attitude and dress up because you’ll probably be on camera,” Deep added, noting the live video and audio recording planned for both nights.
The group, who describe their shows as nothing short of “a rock’n’roll sermon of seismic proportions,” hopes the St. Gregor crowd will embrace their new single Friday Night and help make the recording memorable.
“We got a crazy new song called Friday Night, so we want people to just act out, be crazy,” said Deep.
Both concerts take place at the St. Gregor Community Hall.
